Job summary

ITRS Group in London is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the Platform Team. You will help build the core platform that ingests and transforms observability data for multiple applications, working on a hybrid schedule from our London office.

You will participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, mentor peers, and deliver high-performance, scalable solutions. This role emphasizes delivery discipline, collaboration, and continuous learning within a diverse engineering team.

Qualifications

• You are predominantly a backend Java developer with at least 7 years of experience building complex distributed systems.
• You have built applications from the ground-up with a deep understanding of core Java, data structures and concurrency.
• You have built event-driven applications using Kafka and event-streaming frameworks at scale.
• You know how to orchestrate deployment on Kubernetes and design high-performance scalable systems.
• You have instrumented metrics and used observability tools to diagnose issues.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Mentor teammates to foster growth within the team.
• Develop customer-centric solutions and contribute to product quality and testing.
• Take part in team support to ensure reliable service.
• Own initial subsets of the product and collaborate across teams.
