Job summary

NEC Software Solutions in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior DevOps lead to guide cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and automation while remaining hands-on.

You’ll report to the Head of DevOps, influence architecture across AWS and Azure, implement Terraform modules, manage Kubernetes with Argo CD and Helm, and drive CI/CD through CircleCI and GitOps practices. This role blends leadership with practical delivery and a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience running production cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
• Proficient in Terraform, with reusable module development and state management.
• Production Kubernetes experience including deployments, upgrades and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own AWS and Azure infrastructure, setting security, reliability, cost and performance standards.
• Write and maintain Terraform modules and manage environments and state.
• Develop and enforce CircleCI pipelines with secret detection, SBOM and supply-chain controls.
• Operate production Kubernetes platforms using Argo CD and Helm, perform deployments and upgrades.
• Improve observability with metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerts; lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain backup, resilience and disaster-recovery processes using automation.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and problem solving.
• Act as a technical bridge between engineering, security, product and business.
