Job summary

Point of Rental is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the UK engineering team. You will own and modernize the engineering platform, build scalable AWS infrastructure, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability.

You will automate deployments, implement IaC, and work closely with software engineers to enhance developer experiences while supporting a legacy application migration to cloud-native AWS services. Strong collaboration across UK/US teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Proven experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Experience automating infrastructure and deployments using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Strong Linux administration experience with the ability to support Windows‑based development environments.
• Experience improving release management and deployment automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience partnering directly with software engineering teams.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, recommend improvements, and take ownership of solutions.

As the dedicated Platform Engineer supporting our UK product, you'll work closely with software engineers to build and improve our AWS cloud platform, optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and enhance the overall developer experience

This is more than an operational support role. You'll take ownership of platform improvements, lead automation initiatives, improve release management, and help modernize a legacy application into a scalable, cloud-native AWS environment.
