Job summary

TP ICAP in Belfast is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead design, automation and optimization of cloud and on-prem environments, enabling secure, scalable software delivery. Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Extensive and proven experience as a DevOps Engineer working with AWS cloud services.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, pipeline-as-code and Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK, Terraform).
• Knowledge and working experience of containerization using Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go or Groovy.
• Knowledge of observability concepts and tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar stacks.
• Experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD workflows.
• Experience in automation tooling such as GitLab, Jenkins, Argo CD, CloudBees or Nexus.
• Working experience with Linux-based and Windows Server environments
• Experience implementing cloud security best practices across infrastructure and applications.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments (e.g. SAFe) and practising Lean Delivery principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS services.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to automate resource deployment.
• Lead automation of development, testing, and production delivery across CI/CD pipelines.
• Engineer CI/CD and observability tooling to support best-practice software deployment.
• Improve production stability and resiliency through enhanced monitoring and process optimisation.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA and operations teams to ensure seamless application integration and deployment.
• Architect and support microservices using containerisation and serverless technologies.
• Drive automation of environment management, logging and monitoring capabilities.
• Ensure adherence to cloud standards, security best practices and organisational policies.
• Contribute to agile delivery practices and participate in activities to support continuous improvement.
