Job summary

Enso Recruitment partners with an established international technology business to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer. The role offers significant ownership of cloud infrastructure, working on large-scale systems with autonomy to influence platform direction and engineering practice, within a high-caliber team in Belfast.

You will design, deploy, and operate core infrastructure, champion security, cost efficiency, and reliability, and mentor peers as the function grows.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on experience with AWS and container orchestration.

• Experience with Terraform and data warehousing platforms like Snowflake.

Enso Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with an established international technology business as they continue to invest in their engineering capability.

As part of this growth, we are supporting the appointment of a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a highly experienced technology team working on complex, large-scale cloud infrastructure systems.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take significant ownership within a growing engineering function, working on the infrastructure and platform services that underpin everything the engineering team builds and operates.

You’ll work within a small, high-autonomy environment where you’ll have the freedom to influence technical decisions, drive improvements across the platform, and help shape how the infrastructure function evolves as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of core infrastructure and platform services
• Champion best practices across cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on performance, security, and cost efficiency
• Build and maintain monitoring and alerting capabilities to keep the platform reliable and issues visible before they escape
• Ensure business continuity plans are kept current, regularly tested, and fit for purpose across the platform
• Keep data governance and access control frameworks well maintained, auditable, and aligned with compliance requirements
• Support engineers across the business with infrastructure related queries
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across the platform
• Contribute to technical decision-making, code reviews, and engineering best practice
• Mentor team members and help shape infrastructure standards as the function develops

About You

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex infrastructure systems and working with a high degree of autonomy.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Several years of hands‑on experience working with AWS and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Proficient in Python with a strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with tools such as Terraform would be a real advantage
• Someone who understands what good looks like across the full spectrum of cloud engineering, from security and scalability through to cost management and regulatory compliance
• Experience managing cloud data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake or equivalent
• Experience with containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and observability tooling
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a genuine appreciation for reliability in production environments
• The ability to communicate and document technical decisions clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
