Job summary

Arm in London or Sheffield is seeking a Senior DevOps / Automation Engineer (Ansible) for a 6-month contract inside IR35. Hybrid working 2–3 days a week at one of the locations.

You will design production-grade automation and CI/CD pipelines across IBM Z and distributed platforms, using Python, PostgreSQL, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Vault and Grafana to deliver observable, auditable and secure automation services. The role emphasizes reliability and governance for a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Strong production-grade automation design experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
• Finance or banking sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust automation using Python and YAML.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for production orchestration.
• Ensure idempotent and restartable automation patterns.
• Integrate automation across distributed and IBM Z platforms.
• Implement failure handling, retry logic and guardrails.
