Job summary

You will work with Python, Ansible Automation Platform, Jenkins, GitHub, PostgreSQL, Vault, and observability tooling to create scalable services used across global platforms. Remote contract, 6 months, £65-£70/hr Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python development with robust error handling and testing.
• Extensive experience with Ansible Automation Platform at scale.
• Hands-on CI/CD with Jenkins and GitHub workflows.
• Strong PostgreSQL schema design and data management.
• YAML-based automation and version control with Git.
• Familiar with Grafana for dashboards and monitoring.
• Secret management using HashiCorp Vault.
• Experience with artefact repositories such as Nexus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-quality automation using Python and YAML.
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks using Ansible Automation Platform.
• Engineer idempotent, restartable and state-aware workflows.
• Integrate automation across distributed and IBM Z environments, including z/OS job execution where relevant.
• Implement robust error handling, retry logic and operational safeguards.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins, including Groovy-based pipeline development.
• Embed automated compliance checks and verification controls.
• Integrate artefact management through Nexus Repository.
