Job summary

Willmott Dixon Developments is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead growth in South Wales and beyond. You will work with our delivery teams to convert opportunities, manage development appraisals and drive the current project pipeline.

You will build relationships with customers, consultants and funders, while identifying funding routes and ensuring projects meet financial and programme targets. The role offers hybrid working across offices in Cardiff, Bristol and Exeter.

Qualifications

• Experience in a development-related function, ideally in-house developer/contractor
• Strong business development skills with public sector experience
• Proven commercial acumen with development appraisals and financial modelling
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing, presenting and pitching ideas
• IT proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and appraisal software

Responsibilities

• Maintain and deliver the existing pipeline of development projects with the team
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, funders and stakeholders
• Create development management solutions and deliver to project completion
• Identify funding options and manage development appraisals and reporting
• Collaborate with regional preconstruction teams to meet margin requirements
• Manage consultant relationships and mitigate risks to optimise returns
• Lead bids and feasibilities to secure opportunities
• Represent the company publicly and develop new relationships to grow the team and pipeline
• Support cross-regional development managers with business development and tenders
