Job summary

Wiltshire Police, based at Headquarters Devizes, is seeking a Senior Developer to shape digital policing by building secure, scalable low-code solutions on Microsoft Power Platform and Office 365.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver automated processes, AI-enabled capabilities and user-centered services that enhance operational effectiveness and public safety.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing and supporting low-code solutions with Power Platform technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, automation and integration to deliver business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design and secure, scalable digital solutions.
• Experience applying governance, security, privacy and compliance in Microsoft 365 and Power Platform environments.
• Power Platform certification (PL-900, PL-100, PL-200 or equivalent) and commitment to continuous development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance secure, scalable and user-centered solutions using Power Platform, SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Build applications, automations, integrations and digital services to improve user experience and operational outcomes.
• Collaborate with Service Owners, BAs, Architects and users to translate business needs into digital solutions.
• Develop Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, Dataverse solutions, Power BI reporting and AI-enabled capabilities including Copilot.
• Apply secure-by-design principles and governance throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Support continuous improvement of digital services through automation and data-driven insights.
• Promote reuse of applications and automation patterns to accelerate delivery.
• Contribute to Power Platform and DDaT communities by sharing knowledge and championing modern practices.

About the role

As a Senior Developer, you will help shape the future of digital policing by designing, building and improving innovative low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 technologies. Working closely with users, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, you will create secure, scalable and user-centred applications, automations and digital services that improve operational effectiveness and user experience. What you will be doing

• Design, develop and enhance secure,scalableand user-centred solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Build applications, automations,integrationsand digital services that improve user experience, operationalefficiencyand organisational outcomes.
• Work with Service Owners, Business Analysts,Architectsand users to translate business needs into effective digital solutions.
• Develop Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, Dataverse solutions, Power BI reporting and AI-enabled capabilities including Microsoft Copilot technologies.
• Apply secure-by-design principles, governance standards and engineering best practices throughout the solution lifecycle.

About you and your experience

• Experience designing,developingand supporting low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
• Experience working with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online,automationand integration technologies to deliver business outcomes.
• A strong understanding of user-centred design, modern development practices and delivering secure, scalable digital solutions.
• Experience applying governance, security, privacy and compliance principles within Microsoft 365 and Power Platform environments.
• A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and the use of automation and AI-enabled technologies to transform services.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and engage with a range of stakeholders.
• Microsoft Power Platform certification (such as PL-900, PL-100, PL-200 or equivalent) and a commitment to continuous professional development.
