Job summary

Sonar is seeking a Senior or Staff Technical Writer to join our documentation team in the UK. You will own developer-facing content across the SonarQube product suite, including conceptual guides, integration tutorials, and release notes.

You will work in a docs-as-code workflow (Markdown, PRs, code-review diffs) and leverage AI tools to accelerate research while maintaining accuracy. Collaboration with engineers and product teams is essential to ship updated docs on time.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of creating technical content for developer audiences.
• Fluency in a docs-as-code workflow: Markdown, Git, collaboration in a repo.
• Strong software development or DevOps background with proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Comfort using AI tools (Claude, Codex, Copilot, etc.) to augment workflow with quality control.
• Experience cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to ship documentation with features.
• Strong instinct for information architecture and knowing when to use tutorials, how-tos, references, or concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and maintain high-quality documentation for developer audiences.
• Work in a docs-as-code workflow—authoring in Markdown, submitting PRs, reviewing diffs, and running docs through CI.
