Job summary

Vectric Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Software Engineer with commercial desktop software experience to join a small dedicated team. You will primarily develop in C++ for Windows and macOS, contributing to a range of desktop products and integrated AI/web features within an agile multi-product environment.

The role is designed for someone aiming for leadership, with a background in C++ and experience in C#/Rust/Java considered a plus.

Qualifications

• We require a first-class degree, Masters or PhD in Maths, Computer Science or another relevant scientific field.
• We require at least 2 years experience in desktop software development for Windows, Mac or Linux.
• A Bachelors degree is required.
• We require 2 years experience in software development.
• United Kingdom work authorisation is required.
• Commercial coding experience in modern C++ is a distinct advantage.
• Commercial experience in another appropriate language, such as C#, Rust or Java, could also be considered.

Responsibilities

• We are seeking a Software Engineer with prior commercial experience to join our team.
• We will have you join a dedicated desktop product team of typically 4 or 5 other developers.
• You will work within an agile methodology as part of our larger multi-product development department.
• You will primarily code in C++ for Windows and macOS.
• You will contribute to web and AI products and services that are integrated into our desktop product range.
• We encourage the appropriate use of a variety of modern tools and technologies in support of your core activities.
