Job summary

Velociti Solutions Limited in the North of England seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own design, development, deployment and maintenance of our software solutions. This hands-on role requires delivering high-quality, reliable software and setting engineering standards.

You will collaborate with product, project, DevOps and QA teams, mentor juniors, and help embed AI-assisted development tools while working in a hybrid pattern at Oldham/Sheffield offices.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial software engineering experience.
• Extensive full-stack development skills including front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience delivering low-latency, API-driven web services and responsive applications.
• Experience with SQL Server and Azure hosting/deployment.
• Ability to prioritise and communicate across multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ownership of technical work.
• Mentoring junior engineers in best practices.
• Comfortable giving/receiving constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and debug software across the full stack from requirements to production release.
• Ensure development work meets quality, security and maintainability standards.
• Provide technical design, development and integration expertise; maintain documentation.
• Participate in estimation, sprint planning and project commitments.
• Support release processes and retrospectives; drive team improvements.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and document trade-offs clearly.
• Review colleagues' code and enforce coding standards.
• Investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis and improvements.
• Coach associate and mid-level engineers on procedures and documentation.
