Job summary

Autodesk seeks a Software Engineer in Birmingham (Hybrid) to join the Fusion team, delivering CAD/CAM desktop features with AI-assisted development. You will work in C++ on production-quality code and collaborate across Product Management, UX, and QA to ship capabilities.

Responsibilities include designing scalable features, debugging, and maintaining code throughout the lifecycle, with a focus on performance and geometry-heavy workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• Strong C++ programming with STL and modern practices.
• Experience with CAD/CAM concepts or geometry-heavy software.
• Experience with Git and Jira for source control and project management.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted tools for planning, implementation, debugging, testing, and documentation, with thorough validation.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable features in C++ and OOP.
• Develop CAD/CAM capabilities and apply computational geometry principles.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX, and QA to deliver Fusion features.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and share best practices.
