Avove in Warrington is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across clean water and wastewater projects. You will deliver concept through construction, mentoring engineers, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, innovative solutions for pumping stations, treatment works, and sludge facilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience producing and reviewing mechanical designs for complex process plant.
• Strong knowledge of clean water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to develop practical, innovative engineering solutions.
• Experience managing multiple projects and delivering designs from concept to construction.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of innovative, cost-effective mechanical design solutions.
• Manage projects through feasibility, outline, and detailed design stages.
• Provide technical leadership, including reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and reports.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support bid preparation, project planning, resource management, and budget control.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
