Job summary

Avove is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Design team. You will lead delivery of mechanical design solutions across clean water and wastewater projects, providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle from concept to construction.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with clients and construction teams, manage multiple projects, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and industry regulations. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience producing and reviewing mechanical designs for complex process plants.
• Strong knowledge of clean water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to develop practical, innovative engineering solutions.
• Experience managing multiple projects from concept to construction.
• Excellent communication and collaborative working skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of innovative, cost-effective mechanical design solutions.
• Manage projects through feasibility, outline, and detailed design stages.
• Provide technical leadership, including reviewing designs, calculations, and reports.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and construction teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support bid preparation, project planning, resource management, and budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
