Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our Thames Water Capital Frameworks team in Hogsmill, Surrey. You will lead design teams through concept and detailed design phases, ensuring schemes meet regulatory commitments and client objectives.

You will manage design programmes, conduct technical reviews, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost-effective, right-first-time solutions for water and wastewater projects.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree-qualified engineer with strong people and project management capabilities.
• Chartered status is preferred.
• Experience managing consultants and contractors’ designers; BIM understanding is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and performance manage design teams to deliver on time, cost, quality and safety standards.
• Manage design programmes and coordinate with partners to meet milestones.
• Conduct technical design reviews and implement QA procedures for right-first-time outcomes.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to clients and stakeholders, building trust with timely information.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and drive innovative, cost-effective solutions.
