Job summary

Kier Group in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead engineering design delivery across the Severn Trent Framework. You will drive engineering excellence, mentor design teams, and collaborate with discipline leads to deliver high-quality solutions from concept through handover.

The role requires a degree in engineering, proven design/construction management experience, knowledge of water treatment processes, and strong communication skills. A full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in engineering design, construction and management.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned projects across the portfolio.
• Line manage Design Managers and support their professional development.
• Collaborate with engineering discipline leads and construction partners to develop technically excellent and economically sound solutions.
• Oversee engineering assurance processes and implement design quality procedures to ensure right-first-time delivery.
• Manage design-related health and safety compliance in line with CDM Regulations while driving innovation and sustainability.
