Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Design Manager to lead engineering design delivery within the Southern Water AMP8 framework. You will manage design across water and wastewater projects, ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status and a track record in multi-discipline design teams, with strong communication and mentoring skills. It offers a networked environment with opportunities to advance within Kier.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent with degree in engineering.
• Proven experience in engineering design, construction and management.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned projects.
• Provide line management support to junior design managers.
• Oversee engineering assurance from outline to construction stages.
• Develop and manage project plans: scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources.
• Ensure CDM compliance and promote health and safety across the team.
