Job summary

Leatherhead-based opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to lead the design function on a high-profile mixed-use development. The role involves coordinating architects, consultants and the supply chain, driving the design programme and ensuring buildability within the project’s CDM framework.

You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant design solutions and effective risk management across preconstruction through to delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator.
• Strong background with a UK Main Contractor.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Knowledge of BIM, Digital Engineering and ISO 19650.
• Good understanding of CDM, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience on blue-light or secure public-sector projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the multidisciplinary design process from preconstruction to delivery.
• Develop and manage the project design programme.
• Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and designers.
• Lead design coordination meetings and resolve technical issues.
• Manage design deliverables, interfaces and approvals.
• Review Employer's Requirements and ensure compliant design solutions.
• Collaborate with planning, commercial and operations teams.
• Oversee BIM / Digital Engineering coordination and CDE processes.
• Support model federation, clash detection and design issue resolution.
• Ensure design risk is managed and CDM 2015 adhered to.
