Job summary

Kier Group in Chester seeks a Senior Design Manager to lead the design function on a major nuclear infrastructure project. You will manage the design team and collaborate with Urenco, Bechtel and supply chain partners to deliver a coherent, safe and buildable design solution.

You will drive design strategy from RIBA Stage 3 through to construction-ready delivery, ensuring compliance and coordinated information across disciplines and regimes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Chartered or working towards chartership with a recognised professional institution.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on major infrastructure, energy, nuclear or regulated projects.
• Knowledgeable in BIM-enabled design delivery and collaborative working within integrated project teams.
• Familiar with NEC contracts, CDM regulations, risk management and change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall design function and establish design strategy, governance and processes.
• Act as principal design interface with Urenco, Bechtel, AECOM and design teams, regulators and stakeholders.
• Lead assurance activities through multidisciplinary design reviews and regulatory compliance.
• Integrate design activities within the project programme and monitor milestones.
• Champion BIM and digital delivery, ensuring coordinated and compliant design information.
