Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Design Coordinator for the Urenco Capenhurst site in Chester. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, manage interfaces, and lead digital coordination using federated BIM models across the TMF Kilns 3 & 4 project, ensuring integration and construction-ready designs.

Based in Chester with 2 days on-site, you will engage with multiple disciplines and stakeholders to deliver a coordinated, compliant design for a major nuclear infrastructure program.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or a related discipline
• Experienced in design coordination on construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial or regulated-sector projects
• Skilled in coordinating technical interfaces and managing multidisciplinary information
• Knowledgeable about BIM processes, digital coordination and information management systems
• A strong communicator with excellent organisational and stakeholder engagement abilities

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across all project disciplines and organisations, ensuring information aligns with requirements and milestones
• Establish and manage the Design Interface Register, monitoring interfaces between CSA, Process, Mechanical, Electrical and other disciplines
• Plan and chair Design Coordination Meetings, capture actions and track progress to close-out
• Lead digital coordination using federated BIM models, including clash detection and interdisciplinary reviews
• Support progressive assurance reviews, design verification activities and compliance with technical standards and safety requirements
