Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Senior Design Manager to lead the Infrastructure Design team, shaping tools for developers and cloud engineers. You will coach designers, drive outcomes, and ensure timely delivery against the roadmap.

Based remotely in the EMEA region, you will collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to lift design quality, evolve systems, and grow the team while engaging with the open source community.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating outstanding quality in UX design and savviness in technology.
• Experience managing design teams in deeply technical domains.
• Experience guiding designers from discovery through validation to implementation.
• Proven track record delivering on deadlines and managing roadmaps.
• Experience interacting with technical stakeholders and driving outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing the work of your design team for quality.
• Supporting professional growth of individual designers.
• Improving operational workflows, including production outsourcing and collaboration with Web Engineering.
• Defining and validating outcomes with Engineering and product stakeholders.
• Evolving design systems and guidelines to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Coordinating with design leadership to mature practice across teams.
• Fostering collaboration and sharing work to strengthen culture.
• Engaging the open source community to articulate the value of the work.
