Job summary
Canonical is seeking a Staff Design Engineer to shape the UX of cloud networking across MAAS, MicroCloud and Ubuntu Server. You will define the UX vision for networking across our cloud portfolio and translate complex concepts into intuitive interfaces for developers and operations teams.
The role is remote-first in the EMEA region, reporting to the Infrastructure design manager. You will mentor designers, lead a working group, and collaborate across Canonical to scale UX across multiple
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product/UX design for B2B/enterprise products.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing and networking fundamentals.
- Experience designing for developers and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Defining and driving the UX strategy for cloud networking products across Canonical's portfolio.
- Designing intuitive interfaces for complex networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing).
- Creating and evolving design systems and patterns that scale across products.
- Conducting user research with DevOps engineers, network admins, SREs, and cloud architects.
- Building prototypes and high-fidelity designs using Figma or similar tools.
- Mentoring designers and contributing to design culture across Canonical.
- Owning one of our working groups to enable Canonical design’s horizontal efforts.
