Job summary

Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team of remote engineers. You will coach, mentor, and develop engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong collaboration across Canonical and partners.

The role focuses on Linux-based cloud technologies, microservices, and scalable architectures, with travel for team events and partner meetings. Remote in EMEA/AMERICAS with flexible collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar.
• Experience leading engineering teams in distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, virtualization, networking and storage.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of remote engineers.
• Develop talent through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
• Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams and management.
• Advocate and advance modern software development practices.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews.
• Engage with Canonical and partner communities.
• Travel 4–6 weeks per year for events.
