Job summary

TH Recruit is seeking a Design Engineer to support an established housebuilder in delivering residential developments across the West Midlands. You will develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions from design through to construction, coordinating with external consultants, authorities and statutory bodies to meet planning conditions and standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering design for residential developments.
• Knowledge of highways, drainage, levels, and utilities.
• Familiar with technical approvals and statutory agreements.
• Experience coordinating external consultants and managing information.
• Strong analytical and practical, commercially aware approach.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.
• Proactive, independent worker with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate civil designs for residential sites.
• Coordinate roads, drainage, levels, and utilities.
• Liaise with consultants, local authorities and statutory bodies.
• Support highway and drainage approvals (Section 38/104/278).
• Review drawings, reports and specs for planning compliance.
• Support design programmes and monitor progress.
• Maintain technical records and communicate with stakeholders.
