Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Design Coordinator to work on Energy projects, based in Glasgow with regular travel to Inverness and Highlands sites. The role includes leading design engineering matters, coordinating internal designers, consultants and suppliers, and ensuring proper use of CDE systems.

You will review submissions, monitor progress against the programme, consider constructability and temporary works, and liaise with surveyors, buyers, and project managers to foster a collaborative

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in civil engineering, construction or equivalent.
• Active membership or ongoing progression within an Engineering Institution.
• Experience producing design for Power/T&D, renewables or EPC projects.
• Experience in design management/coordination and construction.
• Proficiency with Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
• Familiar with BIM, CDEs and document control processes.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions for quality and sufficiency.
• Lead design engineering matters on small/medium projects.
• Coordinate design by internal designers, consultants, suppliers and interface contractors.
• Ensure Aconex or client-approved CDE is set up and used correctly.
• Monitor, track and report design progress against the project programme.
• Oversee constructability and temporary works considerations.
• Review design progress and detail using CAD/BIM tools.
• Monitor NCRs and close-out related to design.
• Liaise with Surveyors, Buyers, Contract Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and Estimators.
