Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Design Manager to lead engineering design delivery for high-voltage substation projects across the UK, based in Glasgow with regular travel to Inverness and Highlands sites.

The role requires experience with multi-disciplinary design packages, knowledge of CDM 2015 principles, and involvement in tender/early contractor engagement stages. Membership of a UK Engineering institute is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design packages.
• Experience as Principal Designer Representative under CDM 2015.
• Delivery of substation projects for UK Transmission Service Operators is desirable.
• Membership of a UK Engineering institute.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design delivery of existing major Transmission HV 132/275/400kV substation projects.
• Lead Design Management requirements at tender or ECE stages and allocate resources.
• Integrate HV Plant, Protection and Control and Civils with internal/external teams.
• Act as Principal Design Representative ensuring CDM and design control compliance.
• Review design packs for technical compliance, quality and completeness.
