Job summary

Willing care in Reading, United Kingdom, seeks a Deputy Home Manager to support leadership of a children’s residential home. Lead the team, ensure a safe environment, and uphold high standards of care and compliance.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager to achieve Good/Outstanding Ofsted ratings, supervise staff, and develop tailored care plans for young people with a compassionate, resilient leadership style.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years' experience in a children's residential setting.
• Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Proven track record with Ofsted-regulated homes and high inspections.
• Strong leadership with compassionate, resilient approach.
• Understanding safeguarding and welfare of young people.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the leadership and management of the home, ensuring a warm and supportive environment for children and young people.
• Support the Registered Manager in achieving Good or Outstanding ratings in Ofsted inspections.
• Ensure the home meets all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and training to staff, fostering a culture of growth and professional development.
• Build strong relationships with young people, their families, and external professionals.
• Support in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
  At least 3 years' experience working in a children's residential setting.
• Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or an equivalent qualification).
• Proven experience in an Ofsted-regulated children's home with a track record of achieving high inspection outcomes.
• A strong understanding of the challenges and needs of children in residential care.
