Job summary

Financial Times is seeking a Head of Projects to lead the Project Management function across Product & Technology, ensuring delivery of strategic change initiatives and complex product programmes.

You will report to the Vice President for Portfolio and Programmes, guiding delivery, governance and capacity planning in a hybrid Agile environment and collaborating with senior stakeholders to translate priorities into actionable plans.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading project delivery teams within complex technology, digital product or transformation environments.
• Proven experience managing Project Managers or multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, hybrid and project-based delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Management function across Product & Technology, driving consistent, high-quality delivery across a portfolio of strategic initiatives.
• Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for Project Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing delivery culture.
• Oversee delivery planning, governance, risks, dependencies and milestone management across multiple programmes and projects.
• Own resource management and workforce planning, ensuring delivery capacity aligns with business priorities.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Portfolio Governance and business leaders to improve delivery predictability and execution.
• Champion delivery practices that balance Agile ways of working with effective governance and organisational commitments.
• Develop and maintain delivery metrics, reporting and performance indicators to support informed decision-making.
• Act as a senior escalation point for delivery risks, resource conflicts and organisational blockers.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management standards, methodologies and delivery capability across the organisation.
• Build strong relationships across Product, Technology, Editorial, Commercial, Data and Corporate functions to enable successful delivery outcomes.
