Job summary

Alexander Lloyd is seeking an experienced Scheme Actuary to manage a portfolio of Defined Benefit pension schemes, delivering high-quality actuarial advice to trustees and sponsoring employers while navigating an evolving pensions landscape.

You will lead valuations, funding negotiations, and advise on funding strategy, risk and transactional activity such as buyouts and endgames, building trusted client relationships across a growing book of business.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent) with DB pensions experience.
• Acted as, or supported, a Scheme Actuary.
• Strong UK pensions knowledge and regulatory understanding.
• Experience in risk transfer, buyout, endgame projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as Scheme Actuary to a portfolio of DB pension schemes.
• Lead actuarial valuations and funding negotiations.
• Advise trustees and sponsoring employers on funding strategy and risk.
• Support journey planning, buy-in, buyout, and endgame projects.
• Prepare actuarial reports and trustee papers.
• Build strong client relationships as a trusted adviser.
