Salary: £53,000-£60,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The salary reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract - 9 months
Location: London, Cardiff, Salford, Newcastle, or Glasgow (hybrid role with office and home working)

The BBC is evolving into a digital-first organization, focusing on data-driven culture and organizational change, including transitioning to a data product organization, evolving data architecture, and embedding data capabilities. The Data Governance team plays a crucial role in this transformation.

As a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will be integral to establishing and maintaining a Data Governance framework, ensuring data quality, safety, discoverability, and excellence across the organization.

Interview Process
  1. 30-minute call with a Data Governance Lead
  2. One-hour virtual panel interview, including a Use Case presentation and competency Q&A
Main Responsibilities

This role involves developing best practices, policies, frameworks, and standards within the Data Governance team, focusing on Data Quality frameworks, controls, and monitoring to improve data quality organization-wide.

Key activities include:

  • Supporting the creation and implementation of a Data Quality framework
  • Assisting data teams in measuring and monitoring Data Quality
  • Defining and capturing Data Quality rules within governance tools
  • Maintaining Data Quality rules and scorecards for visibility and compliance
  • Managing Data Quality issues and improvement processes
  • Developing management guidelines for Data Quality
  • Conducting tool assessments and developing recommendations
Candidate Requirements

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Hands-on experience in Data Quality Management and frameworks
  • Data analysis, profiling, and dashboard creation skills
  • Experience defining Data Quality rules and controls
  • Familiarity with enterprise Data Quality tools like Monte Carlo, Soda, or similar
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python (Great Expectations), and dashboard tools like Tableau
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets with high accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of systems, cloud/on-prem platforms, databases, APIs, and Data Governance tools like Alation
