About Team

The Analytics and Insights team in the Technology Infrastructure and Operations function develops high-quality management reporting about Elsevier’s technology infrastructure and operational performance. The team collaborates with operations, infrastructure colleagues, senior management, and teams across technology and the wider business to deliver robust insights about Elsevier’s technology estate. They also lead data governance initiatives to build robust data management practices across our infrastructure and operational data.

About Role

You will develop and maintain reporting on Elsevier’s multi-cloud infrastructure estate and operational performance for senior stakeholders. You will gather analytics requirements, translate them into dashboards and reports, and support data models, pipelines, and quality standards in collaboration with data teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Building and automating ETL pipelines using DBT and Python, leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Athena
• Designing dimensional data models for analytics and reporting
• Creating Tableau dashboards and visualizations to provide clear insights
• Analyzing large datasets with a focus on data integrity and accuracy
• Leading analytics projects, delivering insights supporting strategic initiatives
• Collaborating with stakeholders to establish reporting requirements
• Managing reports through the analytics lifecycle
• Mentoring team members on ETL and data modeling

Requirements

• Experience in a lead role in data analytics, BI, or analytics engineering
• Proficiency with DBT, SQL, Snowflake or similar databases, and data modeling
• Experience with Python for analysis, ETL, and automation
• Handling large, complex datasets with data profiling and cleansing skills
• Dashboard development with Tableau and data visualization expertise
• Experience with AWS services like Lambda, S3, Athena
• Knowledge of Git
• Strong communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Curiosity and structured problem-solving approach
• Attention to detail, especially in dashboard design and data quality
