Job summary

The University of Salford is seeking an experienced Data Protection Officer & Information Governance Manager to lead the information governance framework and be our designated Data Protection Officer. You will provide expert advice on data protection, freedom of information, subject access, information governance, and regulatory compliance across the University.

Qualifications

• Significant senior experience in data protection and information governance.
• Ability to advise on data protection, FOI, subject access and regulatory compliance.
• Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the University's designated Data Protection Officer and principal contact for the ICO.
• Lead and develop the information governance framework, policies, procedures and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, freedom of information and environmental information legislation.
• Manage complex data protection matters including DPIAs, data breaches, complaints and regulatory enquiries.
• Lead, support and develop Information Governance Officer colleagues and promote good information governance across the University.
