Job summary

Get Staffed Online Recruitment Limited is seeking an Information Governance and Compliance Manager to lead information governance, data protection and regulatory compliance across our national education client. The role acts as the designated Data Protection Officer and drives governance, risk management and assurance through policy development and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading information governance, data protection or compliance within a complex organisation.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders and influencing governance decisions.
• Experience developing policies and governance frameworks for regulatory compliance.
• Experience handling Information Rights requests and privacy risk investigations.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, DPA 2018, FOI and related regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgement abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to explain regulatory concepts clearly.
• Ability to foster accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead information governance and data protection framework across the organisation.
• Act as the designated Data Protection Officer, advising senior leaders.
• Develop, maintain and improve policies, procedures and governance structures.
• Monitor compliance, identify risk and drive mitigation actions.
• Develop governance, monitoring and reporting arrangements for leadership.
• Lead responses to Information Rights requests and privacy notices.
• Advise on DPIAs, information sharing and data use risks.
• Manage information governance incidents and regulatory reporting where required.
• Support records management, retention and disposal practices.
• Deliver training and awareness on information governance responsibilities.
• Contribute to projects to embed information governance considerations.
