Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Data Platform Engineering Manager to lead the cyber data team and shape the self-served data infrastructure for security analytics, ML and GenAI initiatives.

You will oversee a team of data platform engineers, drive architecture decisions, and ensure secure, scalable data pipelines across real-time and batch processing, with a focus on threat detection and incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data platform teams at scale.
• Strong programming skills in Python/Java and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and big data tools (Spark, Flink).
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD and Terraform.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Proven ability to hire, develop and retain cyber data platform talent.
• Ability to Communicate clearly and empower teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and manage real-time, near real-time and batch data architectures.
• Oversee data integration from security sources into the security lake.
• Ensure data security and regulatory compliance in all platforms.
• Drive automation and DevOps practices for data platform components.
• Recruit, mentor and develop cyber data team members.
• Provide reporting and insights to security leadership and stakeholders.
