Job summary

Tesco UK in Welwyn Garden City is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to design and deliver trusted data products for security analytics. You will lead data transformation, modelling and dashboards, enabling AI-powered analytics with governance and robust data quality controls.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the analytics platform architecture in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Experience designing data products from raw security data to trusted insights.
• Strong python/pyspark and SQL skills with data modelling focus.
• Proven ability to build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data quality controls.
• Hands-on with Airflow and dbt in cloud environments (Databricks on Azure).
• Experienced in dashboards with Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Version control and CI/CD practices; collaborative code reviews.
• Interest in AI-driven analytics and conversational data solutions.
• Understanding of security concepts and responsible AI principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead data integration and transformation pipelines across raw, trusted, and curated layers.
• Design scalable data models to support threat detection and reporting.
• Develop high-quality data pipelines with clear documentation and reviews.
• Automate deployment, testing, monitoring and data quality controls.
• Support analytics agents and conversational analytics with governance.
• Create trusted dashboards to enable self-service analytics and storytelling.
• Collaborate with security, engineering and data teams to meet business needs.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to talent development.
