Job summary

Mistral is seeking a Data Infrastructure professional to design and operate the next generation of our data infra for training and fine‑tuning at scale. You will help build massive compute fleets and storage systems, ensuring secure and governed data access for MLOps and research across hybrid environments.

You will own end‑to‑end migration from legacy orchestrators to production‑grade pipelines and participate in on‑call rotations for critical training jobs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Data Infrastructure, MLOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Proficient in Python and solving data lake challenges with modern storage standards.
• Well‑versed in Kubernetes‑native tooling and debugging large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience building scalable, secure systems from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Build & Scale: operate massive distributed compute and storage systems.
• Global Orchestration: multi‑cluster orchestration across hardware and regions.
• Design Future‑Proof Storage: transition to modern storage formats handling exabyte‑scale data.
• Platform Engineering: develop internal training platform for model training and fine‑tuning on Kubernetes/SLURM.
• Metadata & Lineage: provide clear visibility and data/model lineage.
• Operational Excellence: enable cloud‑native deployments at scale with reliability.
