Mistral Ai is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our NYC team, building core systems powering AI Studio, Le Chat & Mistral Code. You will develop reliable, high-performance backend features and APIs serving millions of users and developers.

The role welcomes mid-level to senior and staff engineers eager to learn and ship impactful products. You will contribute to system architecture, code quality, and cross-functional collaboration while staying current with new technologies and production-ready

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python or another backend language (Golang, Kotlin, C#).
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, caching, messaging systems and distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend features and APIs.
• Ensure high performance and reliability across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product managers and AI/ML teams to deliver scalable model-as-a-service solutions.
