Job summary

Halfords in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Enterprise Data Management Lead to shape practical governance, improve data quality and enable confident decision-making powered by high‑quality data across the business.

You will lead Master Data Management initiatives, drive governance adoption, champion data literacy and work with data owners and stakeholders while operating in a hybrid setup at the Redditch Support Centre.

• Proven ability to lead and evolve data governance and management practices across an organisation.
• Strong track record in defining data standards and monitoring compliance.
• Influential stakeholder leader capable of driving change across senior and cross-functional teams.
• Confident communicator who distils complex data topics into actionable insights.
• Experienced in embedding a data-driven culture and data literacy across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of data governance frameworks and standards across the data lifecycle.
• Define ownership with data owners and establish RACI for data quality, access and change.
• Elevate data management practices, including data quality, metadata, modelling and standards.
• Own Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, aligning business and technical teams.
• Identify and manage data risks, ensuring issues are tracked and escalated as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement by assessing data maturity and communicating progress.
• Advocate for ethical, privacy-aware data use and compliant decision‑making.
• Turn governance topics into clear, compelling messages to drive engagement.
