Job summary

Proactive Appointments is seeking a Senior Data & BI Developer to join its Data & Insight team. The role is four days onsite, focusing on delivering data-driven insight across the business using a modern Microsoft Fabric/Power Platform stack.

You'll own the end-to-end data journey, from ingestion to reporting, collaborating with senior leaders and customers to set standards and deliver impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• Around 8 years' experience in a data, BI or Power Platform environment.
• Strong Power BI experience including semantic modelling and DAX beyond the basics.
• Confident SQL skills including writing and optimising views and queries and understanding query performance.
• Practical experience with at least one of Power Apps, Power Automate or API integration.
• The ability to work end to end — taking an ambiguous business problem, understanding what is really required, building the solution and supporting it afterwards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to work directly with department heads, senior leaders and customers.
• A naturally curious approach to data and the wider business — you're interested in understanding why something is happening, not just producing the report that was requested.
• Good judgement around quality and delivery — knowing when something needs to be absolutely right and when a pragmatic solution is appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Own the full data journey from extraction to delivering insight to senior leaders, operational teams and customers.
• Develop reports and semantic models in Power BI and Fabric.
• Build integrations using APIs, Fabric notebooks and Python for data movement.
• Collaborate with department heads and senior leaders to shape standards and solutions.
• Work end to end on data problems, from scoping to deployment and ongoing support.
