Lorien is partnering with a consultancy with a presence in the UK and Europe. They are currently seeking a Lead Data Architect to support a significant transformation project for one of their top-tier insurance clients.

This role involves leading the design and delivery of a next-generation data platform. You will shape the architecture, drive automation, and ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Ideally, candidates will have a background in Data or Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement a modern data platform
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and engineering teams, translating technical capabilities into business value
• Lead DevOps, CI/CD, and automation strategies
• Oversee data governance, security, and observability
• Collaborate with technical leads, architects, and business stakeholders
• Guide the delivery of software engineering and platform capabilities

Experience:

• Experience leading enterprise-level data platforms using Azure, AWS, Snowflake, and Kafka
• Experience with end-to-end data integration patterns and enterprise-grade data modeling
• Strong understanding of SDLC principles
• Coding experience in Python, Java, R, or similar low/no-code frameworks
• Expertise in modern data architectures (Lakehouse, Kappa, Lambda)
• Proven experience in DevOps, automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Expertise in data governance, automation, and integration
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Proven track record of leading large technical teams

This is a hybrid role requiring office or client site attendance in London twice a week.

The salary is up to £130,000, with additional benefits such as health insurance, mental health support, and training.
