Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking a Data Analytics Manager (Individual Contributor) to shape UK data strategy, embedding governance and data architecture at the inception of major initiatives. You will translate complex business needs into robust data requirements, deliver reusable data services, and act as an authoritative data voice in executive forums.

The role is permanent and hybrid, with three office days weekly.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data analysis, data strategy, or data management within large, complex environments.
• Proven track record as a senior individual contributor, influencing stakeholders without direct reports.
• Strong knowledge of semantic data modelling, metadata management, and data cataloguing for AI-ready ecosystems.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; practical familiarity with AWS cloud services; Java experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to establish data requirements, lineage, and governance at project inception.
• Capture semantic definitions and build an AI-ready data catalogue from day one.
• Deliver data solutions such as Reporting, Decisioning, and MI translating business aims into robust data services.
• Design, engineer, and promote reusable data services to avoid reinventing data infrastructure.
• Act as a trusted Data voice in executive forums to minimise risk and rework.
