Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking a Data Analytics Manager (Individual Contributor) to shape UK data strategy, establishing governance, lineage, and metadata foundations for AI-enabled decisioning and reporting. You will translate commercial intent into scalable data requirements and lead high-impact initiatives without direct reports.

The role emphasizes partnering with business and tech teams, delivering reusable data services, and driving data quality as a standard across the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data analysis, data strategy, or data management in large enterprises.
• Proven track record as a senior individual contributor influencing stakeholders without direct reports.
• Knowledge of semantic data modelling, metadata management, and data cataloguing principles for AI-ready ecosystems.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with AWS; ability to translate business needs into data requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams at inception to define data requirements, lineage and governance.
• Create AI-ready data catalog definitions and conceptual relationships from day one.
• Design reusable data services to avoid rebuilding data infrastructure.
• Act as an authoritative Data voice in non-technical and executive forums to minimise risk.
