Placements24 represents a leading fintech company seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing robust security architectures to protect complex IT infrastructures and sensitive client data.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in cybersecurity with emphasis on security architecture, threat modeling, and risk assessment, and will translate requirements into actionable architectural plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Info Security, or related field; master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity, with focus on security architecture.
• Experience designing/implementing security across Windows, Linux, cloud.
• Deep knowledge of networking, cryptography, IAM, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
• Cloud security architecture experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices security.
• Familiarity with WAFs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management.
• Certs such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable cybersecurity architectures for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid.
• Develop and maintain security blueprints, standards, and guidelines.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies to enhance posture.
• Collaborate with IT and business to embed security in SDLC.
• Provide guidance on security best practices and architectural decisions.
• Develop and maintain security policies and docs.
• Lead security reviews and mentor staff.
• Stay updated on threats and technologies.
• Contribute to incident response planning and execution.
