Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Security Architect to join our client’s Randburg, Gauteng team. You will design, develop and implement comprehensive security architectures that protect critical assets and data, define security standards, and evaluate new technologies to keep the IT infrastructure resilient.

In this hybrid role, you will lead security architecture reviews, mentor junior staff, stay ahead of threats, and ensure security is embedded across cloud

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in CS/InfoSecurity.
• 7+ years in information security with focus on architecture and design.
• Experience designing secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of IAM, cryptography, data protection, and network security.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2 frameworks.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• DevSecOps experience; CISSP-ISSAP / CCSP advantageous.

About the Role

This role is instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive security architectures that protect the organization's critical assets and data. You will be responsible for defining security standards, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring that security is integrated into all aspects of the IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure enterprise-level network and system architectures.
• Develop security policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with business objectives.

• Conduct threat modeling and security risk assessments for new projects and systems.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design.
• Proven experience in designing secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of network security, cryptography, identity and access management, and data protection.
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with DevSecOps principles and practices.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP-ISSAP, CCSP) are highly advantageous.
• Residing in or able to commute to **Randburg, Gauteng**.
