Job summary

VIQU IT in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to strengthen security operations and posture. The role is hands-on, focusing on threat detection, incident response, security controls, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate acts as a SME, mentors junior analysts, and collaborates with global teams to ensure effective security operations. Hybrid Glasgow office-based with 2 days in office.

Qualifications

• Senior cyber security professional with hands-on SOC experience.
• Proven expertise in SIEM, incident response and threat detection.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and ISO 27001.
• Experience mentoring analysts and supporting BAU security operations.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead monitoring, investigation and response to security alerts using SIEM.
• Analyse logs and network traffic to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Manage complex incidents from containment to remediation.
• Implement, maintain and optimise security controls across infrastructure, apps and endpoints.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security testing.
• Act as SME, mentoring junior analysts and supporting BAU security operations.
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to strengthen security practices.
• Maintain security documentation and monitor KPIs and SLAs.
