Job summary

You will lead the customs function, manage bonded stock, and drive improvements across imports and exports, with emphasis on CFSP, W5D and W1 processes. A strong stakeholder approach is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in customs, excise, freight forwarding, logistics or bonded warehousing.
• Experience managing or supervising a customs function.
• Knowledge of HMRC procedures and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Managing customs, excise and bonded warehouse operations.
• Maintaining HMRC compliance.
• Taking ownership of bonded stock and records.
• Managing W5D processes and reconciliations.
• Ensuring accurate commodity codes and duty classifications.
• Completing monthly W1 returns.
• Managing customs clearance for imports/exports.
• Overseeing CFSP requirements and declarations.
• Handling stock discrepancies and disposals.
• Reviewing and improving procedures and controls.
• Supporting audits and HMRC inquiries.
• Collaborating with operations, finance and customers on customs issues.
• Identifying efficiency improvements to reduce duty exposure.
