Job summary

Vale of York Academy is seeking a highly organised Senior Cover Supervisor to oversee 37 hours per week, term-time only, ensuring learning continues smoothly when staff are absent. You will coordinate daily cover, support a team of Cover Supervisors, and liaise with agency staff while stepping into classrooms to supervise students and pre‑prepared learning.

The successful candidate will be confident managing behaviour, building positive relationships with young people and staying calm when plans

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people in a school setting.
• Able to manage behaviour and build positive relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily cover across the school.
• Support the Cover Supervisors team and liaise with agency staff.
• Supervise students and pre-prepared learning in classrooms.
• Remain calm and adapt to changing plans and disruptions.
