Job summary

Hednesford Valley High School is seeking a Cover Supervisor to supervise classes during short-term absences, ensuring learning continues in a positive, safe and supportive environment. You will work closely with teachers, support staff and senior leaders to maintain high expectations for students' learning, behaviour and wellbeing while contributing to our inclusive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Calm, adaptable and able to work on own initiative.
• Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers and deliver work set by staff.
• Support students to engage with learning and achieve their targets.
• Promote a calm, inclusive learning environment and manage behaviour according to school policies.
• Assist with IEPs and personalised learning strategies where required.
• Provide feedback to staff on student participation and progress.
