Job summary

LHH is seeking a Cost Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for Defence infrastructure and major programme delivery. You will oversee cost plans, valuations, budgets, and cost reporting, ensuring commercial control across the full project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have NEC/JCT/FIDIC contract experience, strong analytical skills, and a track record in commercial management of large-scale engineering or defence programmes. MRICS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline required.
• MRICS (or working towards) beneficial.
• ACostE/CIOB membership advantageous.
• Experience in cost management across defence, infrastructure, engineering or major programmes.
• Strong contract administration and change control capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage cost plans and estimates.
• Deliver commercial and cost management services throughout project lifecycles.
• Conduct quantity surveying activities including valuations and assessments.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• Administer contracts and support contract compliance.
• Assess variations, compensation events, and change requests.
• Evaluate financial impacts of scope changes and programme decisions.
• Support claims management and dispute avoidance.
• Provide cost assurance and cost benchmarking services.
• Prepare commercial reports for senior stakeholders.
